Our History

Reese and Associates, Inc. was formed after Giblin Associates ceased operations, continuing to provide geotechnical services to the community under the engineering supervision of Jeffrey K. Reese and Jere A. Giblin until his retirement in 2016. Initially, Reese and Associates’ staff included the remaining members of Giblin Associates but has expanded to include Robert Di Jorio, PE, GE, and Joseph Mauney, PE, both of whom possess a strong background in geotechnical engineering.

Reese and Associates were appointed as custodians of records for Giblin Associates and maintained an extensive file on numerous Giblin Associate projects between 1984 and 2009. Partial data is available on projects completed before 2000, and complete files are available for projects completed during and subsequent to 2000. This data has proved to be of great value to our staff, as well as to clients that desire to expand prior improvements.

Reese and Associates, Inc. was formed in 2009 by Jeffrey K. Reese, who serves as president and engineer-in-responsible-charge.

Mr. Reese’s Education and Background include:

  • Humboldt State University/graduate in 1995, environmental resources engineering with an emphasis in geotechnical engineering. Studied soil mechanics under Dr. Ron Chaney, PE, GE. Hired in 1986 by Giblin Associates of Santa Rosa, California, and worked under the direct supervision of Jere A. Giblin, PE, GE
  • Received Professional Engineer License in 1991

While employed at Giblin Associates, his Geotechnical Engineering skills were expanded to become proficient in settlement analysis, slope stability analysis, liquefaction analysis, expansive compressible soil mitigation, shallow and deep foundations, and laboratory testing.
