Geotechnical engineers typically consult with the client, architects, designers, structural engineers, civil engineers, and contractors during the design process to aid in the planning of a successful project. During construction, geotechnical consultation, observation, and testing services are provided to further aid in the project's success. A project engineer or geologist and a field engineer or technician will be assigned to the project. During site grading, the engineer/geologist would observe the soil and bedrock exposed to verify the conditions are as anticipated and consult with appropriate team members regarding measures needed to satisfactorily address unanticipated situations that are encountered.
During placement and compaction of site fills, our field engineer and technician would observe and document the work being performed and perform field density and laboratory compaction testing to ascertain that the specified moisture content and degree of compaction are being attained.
During foundation construction, our project engineer would be on-site to verify that suitable bearing materials are encountered and provide further consultation if warranted.
Upon project completion, the results of our geotechnical engineering services will be summarized in a brief report.
